News Flash! I am typing this from my trapline computer. My boys all surprised me for my Birthday last Monday and showed up with presents and balloons before I headed to the hospital that morning (by the way-thanks for ALL the Birthday wishes!). They were not there to bring me home, just spend the day with me. But we have gotten word that mom is doing (relatively) better and is able to handle re-hab for speech and cognition help for a week or two at City Hospital in Saskatoon.
As she can pretty much care for herself and will still be under the care of hospital staff, I decided to head home for a week or so to help Randy work on Deer Tracking (our magazine). Mom will be allowed day passes and possibly even weekend passes, hopefully gets a private or semi private room so she can sleep and recover some more. As I get work done here, I will be able to go back and help her at home in a week or so.
Thank you ALL for your prayers. I am praising the Lord as I recognize that all the little miracles are adding up to bring my mom home. She still has a great deal of trouble communicating-swaps words, makes up a few...she still has trouble naming many objects and is working on re-learning my name. But God is good.
Viral encephalitis is rare and has such a wide variety of complications (seizures to coma to death), but I am so thankful still that my mom is physically unchanged, Still praying for complete healing for my mom body soul and spirit and continued healing rest...Thank you Lord for bringing me home. Please refresh me so I can return to my mom when I am needed and may this magazine flow well and may people be blessed through it. Amen!
